Learn in Jeju.
Work in Jeju.
Thrive worldwide.
J-SCC is a semiconductor talent program led by Jeju National University together with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Jeju Technopark, local companies and research institutes. It opens semiconductors up not only to electronics majors but also to students from other schools in Jeju and to working engineers, and helps the people trained here go on to careers in Jeju and around the world.
A region where a Jeju-fit semiconductor talent system takes root, and where settling locally and industry linkage grow together
Jeju Silicon
Jeju is an open island that people from almost anywhere in the world can enter without a visa. J-SCC wants semiconductors in Jeju to be just as open. Alongside industrial tools, we are building design courses around open PDKs and open-source EDA tools, hands-on sessions with real process equipment, entry courses that start with Arduino and FPGA boards, and online theory courses anyone can take. We start in Jeju, widen to all of Korea as the cross-regional Anchor program grows, and are open to international students, researchers and engineers from anywhere in the world.
What we do
Practical curriculum
Four fields (device design and process, circuit design, system design, test and measurement), taught step by step from foundation to practical courses. Students carry a design through simulation, layout, fabrication and measurement.
Links to industry and jobs
For students: guest lectures and mentoring, site visits and internships, a showcase and hiring events. For working engineers and companies: short courses, workation and joint workshops.
Regional collaboration
The university runs the education, companies and research institutes bring industry needs into the courses, and the provincial government and Technopark support the operation.
Who we train, and where they fit in the full cycle
We teach the semiconductor cycle in four fields, from design through fabrication to verification, and use campus labs together with partner facilities so that students make a real chip and a module.
